We have all bought fast fashion at some point. It certainly serves a purpose. However it doesn't really last well and just adds to the landfill problems we already have. I prefer to buy better and buy less.
Some of the high end brands are very expensive though and even the top end high street brands are quite pricey. So I started looking at the pre loved market. It does mean that if you have a particular piece in mind you will need to hunt around and possibly for a while but I actually enjoy that part.
I love DVF wrap dresses but they are not cheap so I managed to find two pre loved. They were so much more affordable than new and I love them.
I had been hunting down some really nice tailored skirts. But no where had new ones that I liked or that had decent quality. I found three, two from Alexander McQueen and one from Gucci. The quality and fit are so much better than other brands and I found them for far less than new.
As I loved the DVF wrap dresses so much I couldn't resist trying this beautiful dress when I saw it online. The fit is also great and the quality is fabulous. I always get complimented on all her dresses so I would certainly recommend them.
Don't forget the accessories. Belts, bags, scarves etc. These all add to the outfit and can make a very affordable brand look more expensive. You don't need many, just a few lovely pieces that add to the look. I found this YSL scarf, Chloe Belt and Balenciaga bag. All lovely. Not huge loud logos either so they work well with the quiet luxury look. This is just a small sample of some of the amazing finds I have managed to track down.
So keep and eye on the pre loved sites. They can really be a goldmine. I'm not saying they will be super cheap but you will save a lot compared to new and you will get a much better quality item for the most part.
