Why making exercise part of your routine is so important.

We all have days when we don't feel like doing anything. Myself included. But the sooner you make training a part of your routine the better off you will be. Make it a habit and just get it done. Even if you are tired you can manage 30 mins.

Cardio and weights are a vital part of keeping you healthy and staying in shape. Ideally at least 3 times a week too. The younger you are when you start the better. Most people I come across that are not happy with their shape etc are almost always the ones that have either never worked out or done it so sporadically that it hasn't really made any difference.

Cardio will keep your heart and lungs healthy and weights will keep your muscle up and give you a good shape. This will really make a difference as you age too, especially around menopause ladies. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn even when just sitting relaxing. You don't need to be a body builder, we are just talking about keeping your muscle mass up. We lose muscle mass as we age and this is one of the main contributing factors of the so called middle aged spread.

You can join the local gym or train at home with a programme, whatever is easiest to fit in. When my son was little I had to train at home so I could be there for him and at the time my budget wouldn't cover a gym. But I found some great workout videos etc and used them and it was perfect for me. Now I do both the gym or home depending on my mood. You don't need a ton of space or equipment either.

So don't neglect your workouts. There will be days when you are tired but I promise you won't regret the 30 minute session you make yourself do, but you will regret skipping it.
