I love a great dupe. Not a fake, I wouldn't buy fakes for so many reasons. But a dupe can get you the look you want for a lot less. In some cases many £1000's less. The quality issues and large amount of fakes out there has damaged the luxury industry. I no longer feel I am getting a great deal. But that doesn't mean I don't love the look of a lot of the items. Here are some of my favourite dupes. I personally own these dupes so can vouch for the quality too.
The Hermes Kelly bag - anywhere from £15,000 vs the Charles and Keith bag for £67.
Both beautiful. But only one is in most peoples price range.
The Balmain blazer- around £2000 v The Karen Millen blazer for around £140.
I have tried on the Balmain and can honestly say that the Karen Millen was a better fit.
The Chanel classic flap for around £8850 v the Charles and Keith flap bag for £78.
The quality of Chanel has gone down over the years. I've seen bags in store that are so badly made I am amazed they got through quality control. This Charles and Keith bag surprised me with the quality and at such an affordable price too.
The Max Mara camel coat at £1000 v the Mango Camel coat at £120.
The fit and style are virtually identical. I couldn't justify the price of the Max Mara one after trying the Mango one. The quality is very good.
So as you can see, the look for less is very achievable. There are so many brands out there offering similar looks so hunt around and find the perfect one for you. It doesn't need to cost the earth and you still get the style you want.
