Lower priced brands will often skimp on the details like buttons or hardware.
If you find an item you love that fits really well and otherwise is good quality just swap the buttons.
The lower end brands tend to use really awful buttons, tacky or just very cheap looking and it can really downgrade the look. By upgrading the buttons you can really elevate the item and make it look far more expensive than it was.
Buttons can be bought very affordably from haberdashery departments or even cut off old clothes. Look for interesting, beautiful and just generally more expensive ones to replace the ones that have been put on the garment.
My Mum always had a button box and as a child I loved finding pretty ones to add to it. Now as an adult I understand why she had it. She always kept the really nice ones from clothes and put them to better use.
